the mad ghost story MULTIPOST

In the year 1996, I was ten years old when my Mom went to bed and my brother was on the couch watching TV.
When I went to go play with my Mom's keys and I set them down on the stove and went back to the couch to watch more TV, my brother went to bed and I was up all alone.
When I went to bed, I had to lock the door. I went to grab the keys and they were not there. I had to look around . . . andI found them in the laundry room.
From Cameron Hixon

Dear Reader,
My name is Victoria, and I am thirteen years old. I would like to share with you my experiences.
I lived in England until I was eleven. The house I lived in was very old, dating back to he era of King Charles I. As the house was so old, it was natural for it to creak and groan.
One night, my brother couldnt sleep. It was late, about 12:30. He went to his window and looked out.
There, on the pavement was a big, black dog. It was looking straight up at my brother. My brother, who must have been about my age at the time, was a bit freaked out. He turned his bedroom light on, to check that it was not just his imagination. When he went back to the window, the dog was gone. Even when my brother sticked his head out of the window and looked down the street, he could not see the dog.
You may think that this was due to him being extremely tired, and hallucinating, but then how can you explain the fact that he saw the dog the following night?
The second experience, my whole family viewed. One night, we were all having supper, when my father noticed someone looking through the window. It was an old lady. She just stood there and stared.
We all looked away, ashamed to stare back, but when we looked again, she to had disappeared as the dog had.
I often saw the old lady, she would walk past our house, clutching on to a handle full of glass. My mother's good friend, who had lived in the village her whole life, said that she thought it was the spirit of an old lady who used to live in the house next door to us. She had been the daughter of the man who founded our village. The founder of the village was not happy, his wife was unfaithfull, and had spent all his money. The wife had eventually run off with anothe rman, and he had not heard of her again. He was so depressed that he shot himself, leaving his only daughter with nothing but memories.
Those are my experiences, from a seriously old village in England.
Yours Sincerely,Victoria Wilkinson

A Scottish Haunting
Photo available- ( from an exorcist's chronicles )
A call came through to a local spiritual centre in Woodford, Essex, that a house had been having some strange supernatural phenomena that was causing the two elderly occupants some distress.
The phone call for me to check it out came at a busy time for me, so I asked to get someone else. Then I was informed that this was a “Red Code 5.” These come up once in a blue moon and are rated as the very highest category in spirit infestation.
So on asking for what was happening:
(1) I was told that food would go missing in the night,
(2) Things would be moved about inexplicably,
(3) Dark shapes would be glimpsed quickly that disappeared,
(4) Footsteps could be heard walking round the ceiling for much of the night .
(5) The old couple swore that they heard muffled unintelligible spirit voices.
Now the average haunting had just 2 or 3 of these phenomena, but this had 5, so I went as soon as I could.
The old Scottish couple had been in dispute with another Scottish clan and believed the haunting was connected to a clan battle going back some 300 years, and as the old chap spoke about the dispute, he jumped up and took an old sword from above the fireplace and was shouting; ” If it be anything but ghosts, I would slay them with ma claymore as we did before ye ken”
This excitable old chap was at his wits end, and as my accomplice and I set about a close examination for spirit contact, we drew a blank. We could find no signs of a malicious haunting.
It was actually a relief to me, as I was anxious of a long drawn-out battle with a whole nest of spirits which may have to be exorcised. So on asking if they were on any medication, something perhaps that would cause hallucinations, they seemed pretty well balanced and not in dementia, and no signs of nocturnal cerebral anoxia, night-time oxygen starvation in the elderly that can bring on realistic imaginative dreams. Many sleeping tablets, particularly the soporifics of the Benzodiazepan variety, can instigate strange dreams. We decided to spend a couple of hours quietly in the bedroom, where most of the footsteps were heard.
After a time, yes, we heard them too. The spiritual centre was contacted, and Colin and his wife came for the night watch, and we went home, content that an experienced medium and her husband were there over night at the Scottish couple's troubled home.
The weekend intervened and then I had a brief, but stern, call to come by the spiritualist centre. I thought I had seen it all, and wondered what had happened in the night, but what occurred had me stumped !
It turned out that after an examination of the loft to investigate the footfalls, a bunch of asylum seekers had broken through the attics from the empty house 2 doors down and were creeping out at night and stealing food from the Scottish couple and the people next door!
The police were called and no less than ten people had been living in the loft spaces ! This was seen as hilarious, “Haunted by Refugees” was the headline on the monthly Woodford spirit newsletter, that took some living down, but it is true that most so called "hauntings" have a very physical explanation.
The funniest thing of all was that the old Scottish chap really believed, and absolutely insisted, that the foreigners were sent from a rival clan to spy on him !

French Canadian Ghosts

Hi there!
First I just want to apologize about my English, I'll do the best I can.
(Sorry! I'm a French Canadian)It all started with my mother. She is very "receptive" towards ghosts or Entities. A lot happened to her but anyway, I guess the first sign I had (Not consciously for sure) was when she was pregnant of me? She was looking At her belly in the mirror when she saw that shadow ghost standing behind Her. She told me that story when I was about 15 and I had already.
Experienced it by myself. All along my childhood, I saw those shadow ghosts In my house (it's always inside a house). They have many forms but the most Common is the "man". Exactly like a human but no face, no clothes, just a Very thick shadow (What I mean is that I can't see trough them) staring at It and then me "runs" away (vanish must be the right word). The "man" never approached me. It was always where I could see it but too.
Far to attempt to approach it. And even if at that time it would have been. Close enough, I was too scared to try. Time passed and then I moved on my own. For about 1 month nothing happened In my new apartment and I thought that maybe that entity was related to my. Parent's house and would never leave that place. I went to have supper at my. Parents and my mother told me that she heard somebody "crying" for days.
After I left. She was trying to tell the spirit that I was gone and that it. Was time for him to leave too? And that's what he did. The problem is thatHe followed me in my new apartment. (By-the-way, please don't think that we. A sort of super-mystical family, my mother is just used to those kind of Things). So he moved with me, in a way. One night, I woke up to see the "man" leaning over my bed, his "face" at about 2 inches of mine. That scared the Hell out of me. He was much too. Close. He then vanished away. Then it took various forms. The "man" was still there, but there was alsoThe "cat" and the "cloud". Other people have seen the "cat" too. I Say the "cat" because it's about the same height and it moves fast. Usually It just crosses the room. And I had witnesses for that sort of apparition (Witch was quite comforting, seeing that I was not crazy) and I must say. Those people were complete sceptics. The "cloud" comes in now and then. This one is a little bit weird because it Goes really slowly. It's a very dark cloud, very opaque. And the curiousThing (and hard to explain) is that it does not spread away. It moves like a Cloud but does not grow. Like a big dark go that is floating. That too Vanishes away.
I just don't know who is that person, if it was a person before he became That way and what he wants from me. I've seen other ghosts, who were peopling that and knew and died. I just don't think that this shadow ghost is related to me in a way that I knew "her" or"Him" in his/her life.
They just really scare me.

The Accidental Ghost

("This happened to me in the late 1980’s. I was vacationing in Southern California. Across the street from the apartment where I was staying was a beautiful old building. I found myself admiring its architecture on several occasions before experiencing something that truly took me aback.")
That building turned out to be a hotel called the Horton Grand. I didn’t learn its name until several days after my incident and only recently learned its history. Their web site offers several interesting tid-bits of information. What’s most interesting to me is that they now publicly acknowledge being haunted by at least one, but up to several ghosts." --RWZ (Spooked)
The Accidental Ghost
What I could see made me fall in love with the place. Everything about it was antique in that older Victorian style. The windows were covered with lace curtains. A few were open and allowed for what could be described as a glimpse of the past.
From my vantage point in a third floor apartment across the street, I opened my own window to lean outside and gain a better view. The scene could have been something straight out of the old west and I fully expected cowboys to ride by on horseback at any moment. I learned the building was a hotel that had been painstakingly and beautifully refurbished. Its history dated back to the late 1800’s and could boast of housing such guests as the notorious and legendary cowboy lawman, Wyatt Earp.
There was something about this place that made me want to look... and keep looking. I’d done this several times over the last few days. I would come home from a day of sightseeing and find myself drawn to the window. But this time something felt different.
Some movement caught my eye. A woman was seating herself in a wooden chair on one of the upper floor balconies. She positioned herself in the shade just out of reach of the mid-afternoon sun. I was intrigued by her clothing. Like everything else about the hotel, it was period specific. Her dark dress had a high collar and was tight in the upper body. There was ample material in the sleeves and some kind of puff at the shoulders. I noticed her hair pulled neatly into a tight ball at the top of her head. “Must be an employee”, I told myself. I was impressed at how far staff and management were willing to go to recreate the look and feel of that era.
My trance was broken by a man shouting for a cab on the street below. The masses passing by on the sidewalk in front of the hotel all looked out of place in their modern attire. Business people mingled with tourists and locals as everyone made their way through the city’s famous gas lamp quarter. No one paid attention to the lady on the balcony, or myself for that matter, and my focus soon returned to the intricacies of the hotel’s architecture.
After a long while, I had finally enjoyed enough of the view. I was about to leave the window when the lady across the way suddenly stood and moved a few paces to the railing. Something struck me as unusual about this person, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I stayed and looked her over trying to pick out what was troubling me. I began to think the problem was with my eyes. Then I realized I couldn’t make out her face and tried harder to focus. It was odd. The area around her face -- and only her face -- was a blur to me. I rubbed my eyes quickly and tried again.
The harder I looked, the worse it got. Her face was increasingly out of focus. Then I noticed something that made me turn cold. She didn’t seem to have any hands. Her dress sleeves just faded away somewhere between the mid of her elbow and wrist. Shock and fear seized me as I realized I had been trying to focus on a face that had no real discernable features. No eyes, no mouth, no nose -- Nothing but a blur.
The hair stood up on my neck and I thought: “GHOST”. Almost on cue, as though my thought had been heard, the entire figure became blurry now and then rapidly disappeared in a haze of broken wavy lines. Even the lines had looked alive, like wriggling baby snakes escaping a disturbed nest.
To this point in my life, I had been extremely skeptical of any talk of ghosts and their existence. I had held prejudiced and stereotyped images of likely scenarios for such encounters if they were to happen to other people. You probably know what I mean… the grave yard on a dark night, or a decrepit old mansion in the middle of nowhere are the places one would expect to look for ghosts, if one actually believed in such things. Never did I foresee having to seriously consider the reality of their existence, much less, their existence in broad daylight on the balcony of a famous landmark hotel in downtown San Diego.
I quickly moved away from the window and avoided looking out again. I was afraid of what I might find staring back at me. My love affair with the hotel next door had ended as abruptly as it began.

The Farmer's Land
I'm a girl of 17. My name is Elle. It was on halloween night me and a few of my friends, Matt Drew and Sasha. went out to see if we could get a few treats at some houses, but we never got any. Apparently we were to old for trick or treating.
So we were walking around and where we stay there are lots of fields, so we decided to play dares. And I was dared to walk across the field to the old barn. I said sure, no problem, I'm scared of nothing. But inside I was petrified after all the stories I'd heard of the old barn and the old farmer that had died there 10 years back, and who iis meant to roam around that barn, and people have said they saw an old man walking across the field at night, watching over his land.
So the time had come. I was walking. It was dark, so I could hardly see where I was going. All you could here was my pals shouting "whooo whoo".
I walked faster, then I reached the barn.
My dare was to go inside for at least 5 minutes, but they weren't going to know so I didn't go in. I went round the back. I started hearing strange noises: it sounded like digging.
I said, "Time is up, I'm going back."
Then, when i turned, I got the fright of my life: an old man standing there with a spade. I just stood there, couldn't do anything.
The old man shouted, "Stay off my land or dangers will come to you and your friends." Then he started walking forward.
I ran for it as fast as I could across the field back to my friends and started saying, "It's true, it's true - the old farmer is alive."
We went away back to our street, but that's one day I will never forget in my life: that old farmer and his face and what he said.
I never went back there.

My Mom's Visit

After reading "Dead Mother's Voice", I was prompted to write about an experience that I had after my mom's death.
We had rented my mom's house (after she passed away) to someone for about a year, and then a diffferent person moved in to rent the house. This person did not know that my mom had died in the house, nor did I feel it was necessary to tell her, as she was a single mom with a child. I didn't want to frighten her.
One day, she asked if she could work on landscaping the house as it had gotten a little scraggly. We said that it was okay, and she pulled out all the bushes that had hidden the cinder block foundation, and she had plans to put in some other healthier bushes.
The next day, she called me in a panic. "Did your mother wear big glasses?" she asked me. "And was her hair real shortand curly?"
I wasn't sure what to make of these questions and answered in the affirmative, but I demanded to know why she was asking.
She said,"Your mother woke me up last night. She was at the foot of my bed, shaking my foot. She asked me if I planned to fix around the foundation. She said that those cinder blocks HAD to be covered up. And when I told her what was going to be planted there, she nodded and disappeared!"
I told her that she should just plant the bushes and everything would be okay.
The only thing that makes me sad is that my mom didn't come to see me!

Shadow Person

I had seen (or think I have seen) before tall shadow like figures in the hallway between my room and the stairs. Only for a few moments mind you. That never really concerned me as I would just brush it off as my imagination. What bothers me is that about a year or two ago I had a strange dream.
In the dream, I was asleep, in my bed, but my bed was in a different spot in my room..closer to the door and facing the door, which is the only thing that assures me it was a dream.
I awoke in the dream and saw, beside my bed, a tall dark shadow with a type of top hat on.
I tried to scream, talk, move, anything but I just couldn’t. And I was struggling because I just felt so trapped and vulnerable and downright frightened.
Soon after I awoke from my dream in real life and bolted up in bed scared and looking around.
There was nothing there.

The Victorian Manor House Ghost

Hi!
My name is Jack and, although encounters theese are not the freaky and spinechilling horrer that everyone longs for in a true ghost story, you should consider that not all ghosts are those of murderers and souls of pure evil.
My first encounter with a ghost was two years ago, when I was in year six. We where studying the Victorians and so we went to a Victorian manor house. When we were in the room of the lady of the house, I smelt a strong smell of Lavender as our guide told us about her ghost and that as her favorite perfume was lavender, if you smelt that then you could be sure that was her. This might not have been the ghost, but as we where collecting our bags, I smelt the smell of lavender that startd of faint, but grow stronger.
The smell past through me and into a room that was of limits.
My second encounter was a year ago when my cat Chevy had to be put down. A few days later, I when was trying to get to sleep, I felt a cat walk along my back. I knew it was Chevy because it had Chevy's weight and soft, warming purr. I slowly turned over, but there wasn't anything there apart from the dents in the douvet where his paws had rested. This gave me a happy feeling because the cat that all the street had loved was still with us. So, as I said, although encounters theese are not the freaky and spinechilling horror that everyone longs for in a true ghost story, you should consider that not all ghosts are those of murderers and souls of pure evil.
Thank you and goodbye.
Jack

Suicide Ghost

I'm not sure when this happened, but I do know the year: 1992.
I was 7 years old. My family had just moved from the city to a small town of about 900 people,.
We had been living in our house for about 1 year by this time. My brother and I had our rooms upstairs, and in between our rooms there was a room that, for some reason, nobody could ever open the door to.
Well, I went to sleep one night and woke up around midnight, or 1a.m, to get something to drink.
When I got up, I looked outside and everything was really different. It looked almost like the 1930's: the car, the buildings - everything - was weird looking to me.
I got this really bad feeling in my stomach . . . and then, all of a sudden, a woman in white walked into my yard and looked straight up at me. I couldn't see her face; it was just white.
Then she looked away and started walking to our back door, and within seconds I went to walk outside my room and planned on walking downstairs. But as soon as I walked out of my room, the lady was already floating up the stairs, and she turned and started walking towards the room that we couldn't get into. She looked at me. Still I couldn't see her face. Then she turned to open the door and it opened. She walked in and I followed her, and then she jumped out of the bedroom window.
I was freaking out, because I had never seen a ghost. I thought that someone just jumped out of the window, so I ran downstairs to my parents room and told them what happened, and my parents told me to go back to bed, that I was dreaming, so I went to my room and went to sleep, and the next morning, when I woke up, and went to walk down stairs, I stopped and just curious I tried to open the door,.
IT OPENED, so I walked inside the room.
The window that the lady had jumped out of was boarded up, and there was an old baby's crib and a rocking chair in there, and nothing else.
To this day, I still get goosebumps everytime I talk about that experience.

My True Ghost Story
by
Tiara Anderson
(Dear reader,
This is a true ghost story my parents said happened to me when I was 2 years old.)
The year was 1992 in Windsor, N.S.W Australia.
I was 2 years old when I was living in a two-storey house in Windsor, a country sort of town. My mum and Dad had rented out the house when I was born and they were told by the real estate that I,Mum and Dad had lived in that house the longest. Nobody had stayed there for more than 6 months, but Mum and Dad never knew why.
While my dad went to work during the day, Mum was by herself in the house. She said many things happend that no one would believe.
One day, she once saw a gnome-like face on the microwave glass and there was nobody behind her. Mum would be doing house work and at random a cupboard door would slam and scare the hell out of her. She always told my dad what was going on, but he thought she was just mad.
Every night after I was put to bed, Mum and Dad would be downstairs watching Home and Away and they would listen to me having a conversation with my imaginary friend. They didn't think much of it until, one day, I asked them for two ice creams: one for me and one for Peter.
Dad didn't know how I knew the word Peter because he personally didn't know anybody with the name Peter.
My dad started to believe my mum there was something in the house the night he walked up the stairs. He was just walking up the stairs and suddenly something went right through him. Dad says it felt like somebody pulling his face back slowly and after it stopped he spun around having a freak out. Dad was on the way to my bedroom at the end of the hallway and as he walked into my room, he felt the same forcefield as when he walked up the stairs. Something wanted to keep him out of my room. Another experiance for my Dad was the time he went to have ashower. He went towards the bathroom door and tried to open it but it was locked, he knocked thinking Mum was in she wasn't so he got a screwdriver and picked the lock.
He ran downstairs to return the tool and came back to the bathroom discovering the door was locked again.
Second time round, he got in and had a shower, not locking the door. Dad opend the door from the inside and the lock popped out like when it's locked. He never locked the door when having a shower. The scariest thing about our house at Windsor was when nobody was home. My mum would clean the house before she went out also locking the windows and doors up before she left. Nearly everytime Mum would come home from somewhere the house wouldnt be the same. All the windows and doors would be open. Also, I had many stuffed animals and teddy bears in my room that were propped up on shelves. Mum would come home to find all my toys scattered around the room.
We had a spare room containing a bed and a chest of draws near the door. When mum came home, the drawers would be against the door and Mum would have trouble opening the door. Mum had had enough of the nonsense and asked her friend, who was a psychic sort of person, to bless the house. Mum didn't know what the hell she would do, but thought it would be interesting.
While her friend said some vows to bless the house, doors and cuboards were slamming all over the place, making her stop blessing.
My mum told my dad and he still didn't really believe it. She showed him a clean house one day and explained that all the doors and windows were closed, and that when they would arrive home, the paranormal things would happen in the rooms and house. Dad believed her when he found everything out of place, and knew now that ghosts did exist.
This story is true because it makes sense, and once I found a photo in an old album of me at Windsor with some sort of smoke above me, and after I observed it, I think it looks like two eyes and a mouth. Mum thinks it might of been cigarette smoke flowing above the camera, but after the story I will believe it is a ghost, so you decide for yourself, and I would be happy if you could let me know if it is a poltergeist.
I am Tiara Anderson and I am now 15 years old, living in Noosa.Q.L.D Australia
Thank youTiara

Mother's Encounter

This story is not about my own experience. It is a true story told to me by my mother when I was much younger, but old enough to remember details.
The story took place in their rented house in a rural town in the southern tip province. My mother had just given birth to her second child (oldest sister in our family). My father was in a job site in the mountains, hours away and came home only on weekends. My father's job was the very reason they had to live in this part of the country. During those times in a place like that, the residential telephone was unheard of, and so communication was not only a problem; there was none. The postal mail or the telegram was the only means of long distance communication and the word-of-mouth message was how news and what not spread in the neighborhood or from town to town. Inland travel was commonly by bus, truck, bicycle, beast-drawn cart or on foot. Long distance travel offshore was by ship or boat. The airline, I assume, was still a birdie under development for flight in the country during the time.
The midwife who delivered the baby girl earlier that day stayed and took care of the chores for my mother until all was settled for the evening. It had begun raining before she left just before sunset. My mother stayed in bed with the baby by her right side. That night, she was awakened (probably for no known reason) and saw a woman with shoulder-length hair dressed in white gown standing a few feet from the right side; at about the middle of her bed (my guess is a few feet from the baby's side). She was mostly white against the darkness in the house, her shoulder-length hair was obstructing the view of her face, and only her back was mostly showing (I imagine her profile was in a slightly diagonal position). She moved slowly from the room towards the back door. At this time my mother called her by the midwife's name; no reply. She called her two more times but the woman did not reply and continued moving slowly, turned around the corner towards the back door and disappeared from sight. She assumed it was the midwife who had decided to come back and wait until the rain had subsided, then left the house using the back door. So my mother did not give it much thought.
In the morning, my mother unbolted and opened the back door. The flood, may be the usual 2 feet or so under the house, surprised her (it should be noted that houses in the rural areas are commonly built so that the house stands about 5 or 6 feet above ground perhaps customarily for safety against floods, and the ground floor is usually unwalled or enclosed with fence between posts and used to raise poultry or pets or store bags of grain). It was at this time when she began thinking about the midwife. She said the midwife did not have shoulder-length hair and was not dressed in white gown. And then she realized how the midwife could have gotten out the back door and bolted it from the outside! It was impossible because the door could be bolted only from the inside. The front door was also locked from the inside, which the midwife probably did herself before she left. If she had come back because of the rain, she would have to knock on the front door for my mother to let her in. The baby boy (oldest brother in the family), about two years old at the time, had been with my mother in the bed room all along, and couldn't have locked these doors. He probably wouldn't reach the door locks if he had tried to. Putting "this and that" together, the idea of a ghost dawned on her.
My mother must have heard about ghost stories before this occurrence but never had the slightest first-hand idea of what a ghost was. I could only imagine her aghast when she realized she had just seen one! She never mentioned how she reacted.
The next day a telegram came. Her sister (oldest sister in the family) had died in a hospital in the city (about 700 miles northwest, by ship). My mother traveled to attend the funeral. Her sister had shoulder-length hair. The family was told by the nurse who had been caring for her that just before her last breath that night, her sister with both hands gripping tightly on the steel hospital head board, was calling the names of her relatives, crying and sobbing in agony why they did not visit her. She died the same day our oldest sister was born, possibly at about the time my mother saw the ghost. My mother was told also that her sister died in her white hospital gown.

Smoke Detector
On October 20th, which was a Friday night, I was at my boyfriends apartment. He and I have always heard footsteps in the kitchen, cabinets closing, and the water cooler being used but no one is there!!
Anyhow, so back to Friday the 20th. We ironically enough were watching a program on the discovery channel about a family that lived in a haunted house, and all of the strange happenings that would go on there. So they were saying how the ghost in their house liked to set the smoke detectors off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.
Right after that, it cut to commercial. Literally, 2 seconds later, the smoke detector beeped loudly 5 times straight, then stopped! It scared the crap out of us, and it has not happened since!!!

The Old Trunk

Hi,
My name is Hannah. This happened when i was 8.
My parents and I had just moved into a old house built in the 1800's. I decided to explore after we had moved in.
I went to the attic and discovered a old trunk and found a diary in it. Then later that night I heard something call my name. It wasn't my brother or my parents, so I turned my radio on. Then I didn't see my dog in my room, so I went to get her. Then I went back to sleep.
Then next morning I did some more exploring in the attic. Then I heard a crash on the floor in the kitchen.
My parents weren't i there and neither was my brother. So i just cleaned up the glass and watched T.V.
Well then i heard someone call my name again and thought it was my parents. It wasn't. So i decided to do some yard work. Well again I heard my name and thought it was my parents . It wasn't. I started to get very freaked out. Well I decided to tell my parents. They didn't believe me. So one day they saw a plate just crash to the floor. So we moved out the trunk and a lotof the other stuff in the attic.
Thats my story.
Thanks
Hannah

The White Wedding Dress

It was a regular night, and my sister, my nephew and I were sleeping. Since my nephew was sleeping over, I got stuck in the living room couch.
Anyway, he said that it was about 3:00 when he woke up and he saw a man in a white suit looking like he was getting dressed up for a weddng. Then he turned around and saw from my closet a white wedding dress.
He said that he tried to ignore it and tried to go to sleep. He did, but he still thinks if he was imagining things to this day.
P.S This is no joke; it's 4 real. My parents never told me this, but I found out myself that the people who used to live in my house died in an airplane crash.
I'm guessing that the people who died were gonna get married and they've come back to live their dreams in their house. They planned on having a family and living the rest of their lives together.

Ghostly Grandparents
I was turning sweet sixteen in 1993. I woke up around 2am . . . and saw a ghost on the edge of my bed.
It was my grandfather.
He was dressed in a blue suit. He kissed my left cheek . . . and then vanished.
He had passed away in 1983. I will never forget it.
My grandmother had passed away 2 and half years. I can still her presence everyday in this house. I can really feel her presence whenever I'm typing on the computer or composing poems.
The other day, my niece, Jessie, who is nine, and I were at the PC . . . and all of a sudden, we saw a shadow of a woman sitting on the bed. Then it vanished.
By the way, I had composed a poem about her that night when she died. I had put a copy of the poem in her casket the day of her funeral.
That summer, the poem - a Special Grandma - was published on July 29th 2005.
I hope you enjoy these experiences and will put them on the website to share with others
Yours Truly,

Lady In White

First of all, this happened to my dad, so I do not know all the details, but when he was about 5, he had his own room.(finally) In the middle of the night, he would wake up . . . and there would be a lady, dressed in white, standing over him.
Ever since, it has been a complete mystery. Who was that lady? Was it my mom? Was I still dreaming? What did she want?
Now I have a story. I was out in the woods with my friend, and the strangest things kept happening. It was about 5:00 on a Friday evening. The moon was full. There was a spot where we had found some weird stuff(cloth, cubed rocks, other unrecognizable junk) We saw one huge cubed rock. Something was carved into it. It now occurs to me that I accidentally stepped on it. That could have caused the sudden wierdness.
The main story here is we jumped across a creek in the same spot. We turned around 5 secs later, and there was a humongous branch right where we jumped across!
That's not all. The freakiest part was the wind had died down, and everything was completly silent.
My friend and I ran for it. Past the old abandoned house. We were so scared, we held hands past that. It seemed we were running into the moon which had turned a firey red. The streets were completly deserted by now.
We still never figured out what had really happened. We knew one thing though:
We would never go back there for a while!

The Vatican and Spiritualism

VATICAN EXORCISM AND U.F.Os
The Vatican exorcism expert Gabriel Amorth, made the perhaps unwise statement ( Aug 2006 ) that both Hitler and Stalin were possessed and would have benefited from exorcism, ignoring the fact that Churchill was steeped in the occult, e.g. druidry masonics astrology etc. The G.R.U documentation of superspy Eugene Ivanov who brought down the conservative government in the "Profumo affair" Tell of the wartime involvement of Churchill with occult experts, Dennis Wheatley, Louis de Whol and the Church of England specialist, Archbishop Lang. The late pope is said by Vatican experts to have performed only 3 exorcisms in his 23 year reign as pontiff.
The controversial African Archbishop Malingo, has performed more than can be put on record. But since 1999 the Vatican has brought in the first series of changes since 1614. Christian Theologians have brought back belief in the Devil to the forefront of Christian teaching, after many years of discouraging the belief. The Vatican's answer to the interest in new Age studies, led by the catholic expert Gabriele Amorth has been a growing attack on what they refer to as, "tools of the Devil," which ranges from the internet, to obsessions with angels, astrology Spiritualism and particularly U.F.Os.
The latest report by the esteemed university, Theology Regina, claims half a million Italians have come into contact with "Active Satanism" or evil sects this last year alone. This is a landmark change from the trend in the use of psychiatry and anti-depressants, back to church ritual. Plus a bid to gain control of spiritual seekers by reintroducing the fear element in the form of the devil and of burning in hell etc.
The main body of change comes within the 17 page exorcism guidelines. Which is obstructive to giving an exorcism to those in need, if they are non-church goers. Help or fraternisation with people like myself, who are interdenominational exorcists, Is expressly forbidden, it is often forgotten that catholic exorcisms are suitable for dead Catholics, but not only do they often not work for a non catholic, they can anger a controlling spirit.
Exorcism or as it is now largely called, deliverance, is an essential part of any healers repertoire, and more point scoring against Spiritualism and New Age subjects is not helpful to those in need. A phone call to the Vatican City tourist office, to ask about any differences the recent changes has brought about, elicits the information of a surge in crime particularly with pickpockets and rent boys, but not any noticeable difference in religious matters. The Interspiritual Forum, has had years of dialogue, just thrown away by a church who say it cannot "Err" or make mistakes in what they teach, and this means every concession has been made by us, The flat refusal to recognise the spiritual ground breaking, and other good community work that is done in the name of free Spiritual seekers, and to still refer to us all as "necromancers sinners and pagans" is far from helpful.
One of the main obstructions is to Tarot cards, so with the forums agreement, I designed a pack with Christian saints on, for Christian study and prayer groups, a year later and the bridge building has been hard work, but the main success has been the progressive attitude to hands on healing by some bishops, and remember most exorcisms get their diagnosis from healers, and not just depressive illness but surprising things like children with A.D.H.D and autism, self harmers and eating disorders, are particularly helped by healing and on occasion with exorcism.
There is still much to discuss, especially in defining what are mental health issues, and those of obsession and possession. Many churches still believe in the doctrine of "Malism" in this the 21st century, which states this world, as stated in the bible is ruled by the devil, and we are all at risk, and we have to be continually watchful..
Certainly I would urge caution in any involvement in occultism, superstition Catholicism or any "Primitive religious beliefs".

Haunted House Half-Wit
One of the dangers of becoming very well known in the paranormal field is that people treat you differently, you get pointed out in the street, my radio slot became a national sensation and a letter with my name on addressed with just "Exorcist London England," reached me from the U.S.
People email you from all over the world to ask advice on all sorts of things, and you can begin to take yourself seriously,And this is a mistake. "pride rides before a fall"
Several of us all experts in the field had banded together and with our combined experiences, over several years had become undoubtably the premier paranormalists in the country. We were getting invitations to amazing royal houses that were closed to other researchers.
The following story is one that still makes our team blush with acute embarrassment.
We had a call out from a little old lady that her house in a quiet neglected little turning in a Norfolk village was being haunted by a missing previous lodger, with serious occult after effects. One of the cardinal rules to this sort of stuff is to take statements from others affected by the phenomena, but this lady lived alone, so there was no verification.
The 3 of us arrived at the door to the very run down property to find a man with a crazy false Tony Blair like grin, but with no teeth and a bald head laughing at us from the gate next door, we assumed he was a half wit and ignoring him we went in with the old lady, and the sight and smell really hit us of stale alcohol in the rubbish strewn house, We met upstairs and stood at the back window away from the smell and the old lady and wished we had stayed at home, from this window we again saw the half wit grinning toothless man next door watching and pointing up at us from his garden.
The decision was made that we had to spend the next couple of hours clearing away loads of bottles, cans and rubbish to the front garden before we could assess what exactly we had here.
As the afternoon ended we sat down for a breather on the front step, and again the half wit old man with no teeth came and pointed at us and laughed hysterically, this was beginning to annoy us so we went back inside.
The old lady said the previous occupant had gone missing and was haunting the property, and causing all sorts of paranormal phenomena. The 3 of us were exhausted and said we would come back at the weekend.
So on leaving the old halfwit man next door again pointed and was jumping up and down like a hysterical laughing monkey, David Tyndall walked back and asked; " look old chap just what is your problem " ?
The old man took out his teeth from a handkerchief in his back pocket and put them in And told us, "old Mabel there she told the police that she believed the missing man was buried in the garden and convinced the police to dig the garden over for her, she then told the Jehovah Witnesses she could not join them because she was concerned her house needed fixing up, which they did, but would not clear away the rubbish, so she made up the story about a haunting and you three cleared it all away for her "
The sudden dawning that we had been had, by a frail cunning old lady was not received well by us at all, and that we felt the halfwit was actually quite an intelligent chap who then walked into the house laughing, with his arm round the frail old lady, this made us look terrible fools and was a very sobering lesson, that not everyone is genuine in the world of the paranormal, this humiliation brought us down to earth with a bump, and showed that things are rarely what they seem, and to always look below the surface for other meanings..

The Spitting Spectre
My fiancé's brother and girlfriend have recently started to be spat on in his Mum's home.
Nobody has seen a figure or anything like that, but usually, around tea time and early evening, large amounts of spit appear on the table in the dining room and the table in the sitting room.
If either of them gets up or walks around, they get spat on.
His Mum was cooking last night and opened the fridge and there was spit in there too. The gas on the stove also turned on by itself, and the house phone has been removed from its stand and stood up behind it.
I don't think it is the house because his parents have lived there for over 35 years, and it was fairly new when they moved in, and there hasn't been anything like this happen before. Plus they have gotten into a taxi and spit has appeared on the taxi window.
What do you think could be causing this?
Have you ever heard of anyone being spat at before?
Emma

The Ghost In The Room
Hi, my name is Leanne.
As a child, I could see ghosts.
I used to tell my mum. I was very scared of these sightings
Well, I was about 3 years old and my mum put me to bed one night. Everyone was downstairs and I was crying, but my mum just left me to fall asleep.
I finally stopped crying. I was in a little small box room with a wardrobe and my cot only in the room and also the door, which was very stiff, and when you were in the room, you had to push the door very hard to lock it.
Well, my mum came upstairs after about 10 mins to check on me.
She went to push the door, but it was locked from the inside. I started to cry again and it took 3 men to push the door open, but that didnt work.
After about 10 mins, the door finally opened and I was sat up staring at something in the room.
My mum said till this day now, nobody can solve what went on in that room till this day, but I still won't walk in that room ever since I was a child .
Something was in that room with me.

My Real Haunted House

The house my parents moved in to when i was about 8 years old sat on close to 7 acres, the neigbours weren't close to us, it used to have a one room school building on the property, That burnt down, they built a new school further up on the property and it eventually became a house I'm not sure about when that took place, BUT my parents never hid the fact that we were NOT the only people living in and on this property.
I was outside one afternoon, I was the only kid around you couldnt hear the other kids if they were outside as they lived further down the road.... I was sitting on my porch playing with my dog, and all of a sudden I heard alot of kids playing and laughing down in the back yard, the only thing down there was a cpl dogs, and they were acting very strange, I went in side and told my mom what i just heard and that's when she told me that they've thought for a few years the house was haunted, but NOTHING ever bad happened to them... Years went by you'd hear walking around up stairs when no one was using the upstairs at the time or the rocking chair would be rocking upstairs when we always kept the door shut at that time we just used the upstairs for storeage.,, my mom would be dozing off on the couch or in the chair and shed get tapped on the head or her foot tugged on every now again.
One night while my dad was asleep and my mom and I were in the living room watching tv. we heard a bang from my parents room, we went to the hall and turned on the light, wondering why my dad didnt wake up to that big bang that just came out of his room.. A picture that was hanging on thier wall beside the bed (but there was walking distance between the bed and wall) was laying FACE up on my dad's chest...... Theres no way that picture fell off the wall on it's own and landed picture up (face up) on to my dads chest! he didnt even budge he was still sound asleep.. the next day mom and me decided we were going to try a expierment she put the picture back on the wall, and walked back to the other side of the room by the doorway, and I stayed by the picture and just nudged it to see if it would fall off the wall, it fell straight down the wall and landed on the floor, tilted toward the bed kinda leaning up against the bed, we did this a few times we even hit it pretty hard and it still fell that way, NEVER landing ON THE BED just on the floor beside it.... the way you would THINK a picture would fall off a wall..
As i grew up i was NEVER SCARED to be there, Even know i'd hear voices calling my name, I thought was my mom it sounded like her behind a closed door but it was never here, i've seen apprations, we hear balls bouncing down the stairs all the time..foot steps walking back and forth upstairs when nobody was up there,. I eventually got my room upstairs, there was 2 rooms one as soon as u came up the stiars then the other was next to it..... I moved in and out of my parents home as i grew up, I have 2 kids, my daughter never told me she saw anything. but my son one night while we were laying in bed, he was around 3 (we never spoke of the "Ghosts" if the kids were around) he got very frantic and wouldnt lay still he kept saying some one was in the room with us, I kept telling him no one was there, he wouldnt calm down SO i asked him what he saw, he said there were 2 people in the other bedroom (more of a playroom with a bed in it because he wouldnt sleep in it alone and my daughter slept downstairs).. I said Ok what do they look like he said " one's a little boy like me wearing a blue shirt" the other one scares me mommy he's black with no legs.. I said well if he has no legs how's he walking in to my room? he said " he's using his hands and kinda swinging when he moves like a monkey" I said oh ok and you said he's "black?" Like steve? at the time he was the only african american person i could think of that my son also knew.. he said no mommy he's black like he's been burnt.
That's the 1st time i was ever scared to be there, I've never been scared of ghosts i've always had a thing for the paranomral world.... i'm not sure why i was so scared that night....... a few months later while my kids were spending the weekend at thier aunts, I'd went up to bed, i closed the door that leads up stairs like i always did when they werent home so the cat and dog would stay down stairs and wouldnt take up my whole bed........ i'd just layed down and was laying on my left side with my legs bent like i always do, just closed my eye's, and out of no where my bed bounced a bit like somthing light weight just jumped up on my bed.. I felt it walking on my bed, my blankets got tighter around my body as it walked up my bed it stopped right at my knee caps.... I didnt know what to think at the time i just assumed our cat might of already been upstairs before i closed the door ( i knew it was the dog she goes at least 80 pnds ) and what i felt wasn't no more then maybe 8 pnds.... I got up the next day and my door was still tightly shut, and the cat was asleep on my dads lap, and the dog on the floor infront of my mom i asked "when did alex finally come back down?" they both looked at me weird and said the cats been down here all night long.. to this day i never fiqured out what that was walking on my bed, but it only happened that one time..
In the past we've had a schnazzer, a shi zu and a apslopa/ shi zu mix and 2 small cats through out the years..... could it of been one of those ( and sorry about the bad spelling on them dog breeds lol) I no longer live there but my parents do and when ever i call home or my mom calls me I usally always make sure i ask how my ghost's are doing and she'll tell me if they've been doing any thing or not They've never hurt us, They do like taking our keys when we sit them down to run in the house to get somthing real quick but usally all i gotta say " is okay guys it used to b really funny when ya'll did this but i'm in a bit of a hurry could i have my keys back" and go to another room and come back to the kitchen and they'll b right back on the table where i left them
There was one TIME though i was pregnant with my daughter i had went up to get some clean clothes to get a shower, and i stopped on about the 4th step to shut the lightout at this time i'd been sleeping up stairs for atleast 12 years I hardly ever used the lights, specially when my parents were sleeping the light shined right into thier faces in bed.. so i am very used to going up and down those steps in the pitch black dark.. i turned off the light and was just standing thier making sure i had every thing i needed i was about 8 months pregnant i really didnt wanna go all the way back up for anything and out of no where i felt a cold fealing on my back (like right on the shoulder bone) and down the steps i went ,, freaked my mom out more then me i didnt tell her about the cold fealing on my shoulder, she was stressed out enough....... that i never understood either.
I've taken several pictures of differnt rooms of the house inside and while bieng outside and got somthing in a few of them which i'll enclose the best ones, I have Cropped what i saw and lightend it and used arrows to show where it is in the main pic.. I did that for a forums page i'm a member of.
I'll try to explain the pics as well as i can hopefully i get them in the same order they appear in this email
1-This picture was taken on Halloween 2005 here in Indiana (i'm orginonally from a very small town in OHio) NO body was smoking it was a very nice and very warm halloween night
2- I see a man with a Mustache on my mom's bedroom wall by her bed, along with a orb (the man looks like a man from the Confederate war i've actually seen him full body)
3) this one NO ONE was SMOKING in the house at all the top picture shows smoke the bottom one taken seconds later has no smoke
4) this one is of one of my daughters bedrooms windows 2 differnt faces (heads) looking out her window
5) when i put this one on the pc after i took it i thought how odd my bedroom window looks like some one put just the blade of a fan in it, then i enlarged it and seen ALL the faces

6) Again no one was smoking in the house, this was a cpl xmas's ago thier is a smoke letter " A" on the floor beside my daughter and again smoke above her and the tv on the wall

I hope these pictures can be seen I cant seem to find a program that leaves them the same size as when i scan them ,,, I've got a few more but i'll stop with these ones
any and all questions and comments cant be sent to my email address that I use daily: atv_chick_2003@yahoo.com
Thank you for your time and consideration

The Little Girl On Spry Street

I was about 10 years old when it happened and I was riding my bike around the block. I decided to go play with my cousin and so I went to his bedroom window to see if he was there and as I looked into the window I saw the reflection behind me there stands a little girl with blond hair and a pink dress. She skipped up to me and leaned on my bike (I was still looking in the window) she asked if I wanted to play. she startled me and as I went to turn around and look at her I fell off my bike and she was gone.
I thought I was the only one who saw her so I never told any one.
A week or so later my sister told me about her and that she saw her in the same place and she was skipping to the backyard. My sister started following then she disappeared. I asked her what did she look like and she describe her how I saw her.
We never saw her again

The Ghost of Johnny Fetch

Hi.
I had an experience with a ghost in my apartments in Texas. It was a ghost with no arms or legs because rumour has it a person named Johnny Fetch was killed in my apartments .
He was a cruel person and a thief, and one day, the manager of 1897 of my apartments, which are pretty damp, cut his hands and feet so he won't move or get any thing again, so after that he died.
Now my friends and I go look for John every night. We even see arms still grabbing things late at night or 12:00 stealing as he did before.
How I encountered him was two reasons one I woke up one day and was missing my wallet and I found it exactly where the ghost died and the second I saw it with my own eyes it was 12:07 at night I was very thirsty until I felt cold air and something had touched me.
I froze and I had a laughter. I was scared and screamed louder and every body woke even my best friend called me to make sure I was okay and I explained but nobody believes me and laugh at me butI know it is true is it.

The Haunted Flat
Hi, my name is Joleen and this incident happened when Iwas 19. I am now 23.
Me and my older sister had moved into the flat during the winter,a little before christmas and were very exited as it was our first experience in our own place, wed been there 1 night already so the next night we deceided to start to decorate the way wed like, i moved all the furniture and got the paint ready,it was around 4 o clock in the afternoon and it was dark, with it being winter.there was a large window in the front room, our veiw was the back of a graveyard, not a very pretty sight!
All of a sudden, Ilooked at my sister and she was staring through the window with a look of shock on her face unable to speak,i looked at what she was looking at and i truely felt sick to the stomach.it was a man who seemed to be bobbing around outside our window.face porclain white with a bald head.but wasnt looking at us,just around the room.eyes black inside, unhuman like.
We screamed and ran out the back of the flat....at first it didnt occur to us that this could be a ghost,we just thought it was a man, trying to break in!...but we took a futher look outside where he was.
When we got inside and went round the front where he was,he'd gone....the strange thing is that our front window was at least 8 feet from the ground? nobody could reach that standing up.
We went back inside, that night i must have suspected something as I slept in my sisters room. we were to be woken up at around 5.20 in the morning to the most horrible scream I'd heard in my life,
It dragged on, sounded in pain.well, we jumped up from the bad,ran straight out the front door.havent even been back to collect our stuff.....the man who lived in the flat above us said he'd often heard screaming and strange things,he had two dogs and he said theyd often chase something that wasnt there.i think he still lives there.
Anyway, we decided to do some investigating on the flat, asking neighbours if anything had happened in the flat. Most of the street seemed to know what had happened 3 years before we moved in: a father & son lived in this flat. The son was 27 and had depression. He stabbed his father to death in the early hours of the morning before stabbing himself, but this failed so he threw himself out of the window.
Nobody lives there now.
Thank you.
This story is true, and it doesn't need an explanation, as Iknow what happened, just thought i'd share it with you.
Thank you.
Jolene

Great Grandmother Ghost
It was my first time staying in Poland without my parents!
I left my grandmother's house to go to sea with my aunts and uncles. I heard stories from them about my great grandmother. How she was a prisoner in Auscwitz during the second world war.
And when everything got better for her, she died.
One day, my aunt woke up early in the morning and told her daughter that in her dreams she saw her mother, my grandmother. My great grandmother said something to my aunt in her dream, but she didn't know what.
Later, we went shopping, my aunt went off by herself. She came back to us panting. She said that she saw, in a grey coat, my great grammie.
I have longed to meet my greatgrandmother. Maybe someday I will, the same way that my aunt did.
When we returned from our trip, my great grandfather asked for the first time in 30 years, ''Have you seen my wife?''.

Ghostly Knocks
When I was 11, my best friend came to sleep over at my house for the weekend. My parents had just bought a new queen size bed, but did not put it together yet.
The bed frame and the mattress were leaning against the wall in our dining room which is back-to-back with the living room. Anyway, my friend and I were eating lunch and listening to my sister reading some jokes from a magazine. Dad was asleep down the hall and Mom was out horseback riding.
We stopped and heard three sharp, pounding knocks from the other room.
"Hey Dad!" my sister said. But with no reply. So we went to the other room and checked it out. Only the bed was leaning against the wall. We were scared out of our minds.
To this day, we still hear strange noises through out the house - especially in my room, where the bed is.

My Experiences With The Spirit World

Hi,
I have had many experiences with the spirit world, since a very young age, and as I get older, my ability to see and hear other dimensional beings has developed dramatically.
I was lucky enough to have grown up with an incredibly powerful psychic for a mother and whenever I would see things, she would take the time to explain the workings of the spirit realm, and, because of this, I have never truly 'feared' anything that I have seen.
The first experience I can remember happened when I was about 10, I saw a very clear light, pretty green aura around one of my mothers friends and in front of a houseful of people asked about it. From that day onwards, I have been able to see them clearly.
About the same time in my life, I moved to Lidcombe, NSW, Australia, with my father, stepmother and younger brother, who was a toddler at the time. The house in which we lived was very old, having belonged to my great grand parents and was situated on the outer edges of Rookwood cemetary, one of the oldest in the entire country. Did I mention that my great grandfather had died in the room in which I slept?
Many strange things would happen in this house, from me being thrown from my bed in the middle of the night on a regular basis, whilst everyone in the house was asleep, to my brother standing, terrified, in the hallway, screaming at some unseen entity.
Eventually, I moved back with my mother and with her, my abilities developed. She taught me the importance of protecting oneself from unseen dangers of all sorts, so I had no fear the first time my grandfather (poppy) appeared to me. Since then, I have seen olden days couples walking down the main street of our town in bustling broad daylight, and they saw me, the gentleman tipping his hat and greeting me a good day as we passed each other. I told my sister of this experience and it was not long after this that she experienced a similiar situation.
Another regular visitor (actually, I believe he is with me constantly) is my son, who died at childbirth. It started with my sister having seen him clearly playing with her son, who was one year old at the time. Since then, he allows himself to be seen INCREDIBLY regularly and is not at all fussy who he shows himself to!! He would have been 5y/o this Oct and is growing appropriately, even in the spirit realms.
Another regular visitor is my former neighbour. She was another who was instrumental in developing my abilities and we were very, very close. My whole family was devestated when we heard she was in hospital and might not see the end of the day, so I made to rush over to the hosp to be with her.
At four o'clock on the dot, as I was walking to the bus stop to go, she appeared to me strongly and said goodbye. The grief I felt was phenominal and I turned around to go home, to find my mother had only minutes before hand left a message saying she had died, at four o'clock on the dot.
She is with me quite a bit and often passes on advice, attempting to lead me in the right direction. Maybe she knows that not a day goes by in which I don't miss her.
This is not to say all of my experiences have been loving or non threatening. By no means is this the case. I regularly have a spirit of a vicious old man wake me when I am sleeping by poking me in the back. This poke is often quite hard, as if they are being done with a cane, and always a strong electric shock follows the poking. Another thing the old man does is put his face mere millimetres from mine and breathes rancid breath in my face until I wake up. Not a pleasant way to wake up, trust me!! I seem to have picked up this hitch-hiker when I moved into my first flat, a dingy little hole that had been the site of a rather messy suicide. Not only does he wake me, however, there are times when he abuses me and it is quite loud and clear.
When I was pregnant with my son and staying with my father, I was awakened by this same apparition and called (excuse my language) a "pig-slut" and had hands around my neck. Upbringing aside, that scared the hell out of me!! I was up like a flash and went straight to my fathers room and slept by the end of his bed. This did not stop the abuse and in the morning, my father asked me what all of the arguing was about the previous night and stated he heard the specific words that I had and though it to be the neighbours.

I have oh so many more experiences that I would love to share, but it seems to me that I have rambled on for too long already. All I can say to those people out there having some trying experiences is to just have faith. There are good spirit out there as much as there is manevolent and if one simply asks, protection can be had by all.
Thank you for letting me ramble, now that I have emailed once, I am sure to do it again!

The Mysterious Cat
When I went with my parents to an open house we were looking for a house. When my mom saw the house from the outside, she fell in love. With the house of course! But what was inside wasn't so pretty.
I was 5 years old when we moved in. Nothing scary happened until now. I believe that there is a cat haunting my house.I don't think I have ever seen it,but I know that I heard it.
All the time, when I am in the basement,I hear meowing. Lately I have even heard it in the kitchen.
On one occasion, I saw claw marks all over the spare room floor. The day before that my mom vaccumed the place. So, for me it was really odd.
I decided to have a seance(even though I knew that a cat could not tell me anything). I used a quija board. Nothing. I held out a special charm. It felt like something was playing with it. Just like a cat would. But nothing really unusual happened.
The next day I heard an odd sound. I saw a bottle gliding across the floor. I got really frightened. I decided to do some more investigating. I took pictures of some of the rooms in my house. In some photos I could see odd things like orbs.
I still don't know what could be haunting my house, but it is really freaky!

New York Ghost Story
My own experience of a ghost occurred in 1998 in the particularly un-spooky location of Manhattan's Upper West Side in New York City.
I had travelled from the UK visiting friends on mine who had an apartment near to Central Park in a typical New York brownstone - for those unfamiliar with brownstones, these are the ubiquitous 4 story houses built around the turn of the century in what was then Manhattan's suburbs to house the large families of the New York middle classes and their servants. By the 1950's these had almost all been converted into apartments.
My friends' apartment was a small one bedroom affair three floors up. I slept on a sofa bed in their living room. The only window in the room had a roll down blind which was illuminated from outside by a streetlamp which cast an orange light onto the blind. It was my first night in New York and as I was still on UK time I awoke bright as a button at 4 am. As I lay there wondering what to do for the next four hours I noticed that something had obscured the light from the window. Looking up I saw a dark silhouette sharply outlined and moving slowly across the window from left to right with its arms raised above its head rather like it was swinging on monkey bars. There was no drop in temperature or oppressive atmosphere in the room and my first though was that it was a burglar on the exterior fire escape. In order to deter anyone outside I switched on the nearest lamp and read a book until the morning.
The next day I mentioned the cat burglar to my friends, who told me that there was no fire escape on the building. I then spent some time examining the window where I had seen the silhouette. Apart from no fire escape there was also no exterior drainpipe on that wall and the outside window ledge was no more than a couple on inches deep. The streetlamp opposite was about 40 feet away and was not obscured by trees or anything that could cause a shadow like the one I had seen.
Two years later I went to visit again and on this occasion my friends were hosting a farewell party for everyone in the block as they were about to move house. I mentioned my experience at the party and was amazed to hear that almost everyone who lived there had seen a dark silhouette in their own apartments at some time. They all agreed that it was not threatening or even very frightening and were quite proud of their live-in ghost.
One of the neighbours had done a bit of research on the property and had discovered that the jazz singer Billie Holiday had lived in the building in the early 1950s and was certain that it was Billie's ghost dancing through the house, although by that time the property was already apartments and it seems unlikely to me that she would be interested in roaming the whole house.

Two Ghost Stories

We have two ghost stories.
The first is about a string that answers questions. It was morning and I was a little tired but I really do believe it happened. I was in my room when I noticed a string that was hanging from my ceiling was moving frantically, though there were no air conditioners, nor were any windows open. I asked it questions it would stand out straight or move around frantically.
The second experience is about a mouse. It was on Saturday. I had just gone in my room when i saw a grey mouse run across the floor and behind my door. I thought it was just a wild mouse. But when I opened the door and looked behind it........I saw the same mouse...... but it was dead! I was shocked! It was surrounded by a puddle of blood!
Then I heard a sound. I turned around to see what it was . . . and I saw the mouse running across the floor! I was surprised. But what was most surprising was the fact that it was the same exact mouse I had seen behind my door! Then I was amazed because a weird creature ran after it! It had a head and mane and tail of a horse a body i had never seen before and legs of a dog. Suddenly both disappeared! My thinking of this experience is that what killed the mouse was the weird creature I had seen chasing it.
I also think the creature was some sort of demon or prehistoric creature.

Ghost In Suspenders

Hi! I love your website!
When I was about five, my mom had an old blue buick. I can remember riding, in the back, and my mom asking me if I had messed with her seat. She would always feel someone/ something messing with her chair.
One day, when we arrived home, I saw him. He was sitting in the driver's side, wearing suspenders, with long nappy hair, and smoking a pipe. It starled me, so I turned to tell my mom. Then, before I told, In turned back, and he was gone.
A few years later, we were traveling to Virgina for my uncle's wedding. I saw him on the side of the road. This time he had the pipe, hair, and a tuxedo w/suspenders. He had an Abraham Licoln resembling hat. He toke the hat off, and then he smiled, and waved.
That was the last time I saw him. But sometimes I still sense he is there.

The Old Couple

This story happened in 'Cheverly' nr 'Newbery' about 23 years ago when I was about 3. It IS a TRUE story.
When I was a young I lived with my parents and brother and sister in a small 4 bedroom council house that had never seemed to have any sort of paranormal activity before.
A year before my Grandma had past and we were going to my Granddads for the anniversary. We were only gone for the weekend. When we came back everything seemed fine until a few days later my mum ran into an old friend of hers in the village shop. They were very pleased to see each other and her friend asked my mum where she was living now.. My mum told her she was living in the same house as before in Cheverly. The woman then asked if my mum she had had people staying at her house while we had all gone away? My mum was a little worried and asked why? Her friend then said a few days before she had called to see my mum, not knowing we had gone away. She said they an old lady had answered the door and said there was no Sue or Pete (my mum and dad) living at that address.
As soon as my mum got home she then questioned our neighbours, who had been feeding our animals while we were away, and asked if they had seen anything or herd anything? They told my mum that a few times they had gone round the house and there had been an empty milk bottle on the front door step. Then another day they found the front door had been left open but as they could see that nothing in the house had been moved or taken, they just put it down to there clumsiness and that they forgot to look the door.
A week then past and a few more little stories started to come to light. A few people said they had seen a caravan parked in our drive and then a few more people had seen an elderly couple going in and out of our house. Neighbours just thought we had people staying at our house while we were away looking after the place. The funny thing was only half the street had seen anything the other half said they saw nothing.
My mum and dad were really worried about all these stories that they called out the police. As the police did there investigations they also found that it was 50/50 with only 50% seeing something but it was still to many of the same stories for it to be a hoax.
As nothing had happened to us directly yet, we tried to get on with things until an almost normal Sunday evening. when we were all sat in the front room watching the 'Antiques Rood show' when my mum started to notice a very strong smell of bleach. This ended up getting so strongthat she felt it burning the inside of her nose. The really strange thing was, none of us could smell anything at all. Then I remember feeling really cooled sat next to an open log fire and then a coat hanger hanging on the bird cage that was hanging from the ceiling, started to swing really violently which made our bird go mad. This is all I can remember of that night.
Not long after this happened, my sister was having a bath. With the rest of the family in the garden she was starting to get out, and she herd some very heavy breathing and dragging feet coming towards the bathroom. As the sound got louder she started to get very scared and ran out of the bathroom without stopping. As she ran onto the landing she knocked into someone or something and herd it fall against the wall but she didn't stop to look back. When they all went back to look they didn't find anything only what looked like a pattern on the carpet of something dragging there feet.
As for the elderly couple, nothing was found out about them and they were never seen again. If anyone dos know anything about the past history of this house 'Freeways, Cheverly, Newbery, Berkshire,' please email me Just click on the link at the bottom m of the home page.
To this day, the families that move into that house don't seem to live there for longer then a year now or so I've been told. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I would like it to become an Urban Legend one day, you never know. All I can say is that this experience will never leave me and I'll never forget it even though I was only 5.
Our local newspaper found out about our haunting, they wanted to get the full story from my parents. This story has now been published twice as it has become a very well known ghost story for the area.

The Funny Little Mongrel Dog

A gentle tale of a child in spirit( With a couple of photos if needed )
British roadways were constructed originally last century for the horse and cart, and almost as a begrudging after thought, were updated in the 1920s and 30s for the expanding use of the motor car.
These roadways just cannot cope with the huge amounts of traffic they now receive.
In the sixties the government wanted an excuse to close the railways which had functioned well since Victorian times, in order to push people into buying cars produced by the British Motor Corporation, ( B.M.C ) later British Leyland, to keep people in employment and get the revenues from car buying , road tax, insurance premiums and petrol duties etc.
The government persuaded a fall guy called Dr. Beeching to close all the small branch rail lines, so country people would have to buy cars to get to the town..The results can now be seen with the dangerously over crowded roadways through our counties.
However, I was out with a friend on a car trip to London, on a fast and busy stretch of road, when suddenly I felt a chill and looking sideways out of the window I noticed a bunch of cut flowers placed on the verge of the busy road. This can be a British custom to mark the site of a death of a loved one in a road accident. And I thought I may have seen a small shape standing close by, and I felt deep sadness for the bereaved family.
All there was nearby was a few cottages some distance from the road, and no other signs of habitation, apart from a bus pull in, and a small garage and shop.
Each time I travelled the journey, I experienced the same chilling sensations as we passed that spot, and on looking, often saw a bunch of flowers there.
One night, as we returned home from our weekly trips to London, where I would give talks on the paranormal, I slept intermittently in the car on the way back, when suddenly I awoke in shock as I felt a now familiar chill run up and down my back.
I knew without looking that we were passing the spot where the flowers would be placed, and sure enough there we were, and a small misty shape was definitely standing nearby.
It was some time after on one of our journeys that I felt compelled to ask our driver to stop at the nearest garage on the busy road, and enquired inside after who put the flowers there ?
The story unfolded that an ice cream van would stop at the bus pull in at school closing time, and ring the chimes for the children to come from the cottages for a lolly or ice cream.
Seven years previously when the chimes rang, a child had run across the busy road and an accident occurred, and many people had reported subsequently seeing her misty shape as they sped by.
The grandmother who normally picked up the child from school had fallen asleep in her armchair, and the little girl had come home alone when tragedy struck.
The little isolated community had made life difficult in blaming the grandmother, For the accident, and the girl in the garage shop pointed out with hostility where the old lady lived.
On feeling an overwhelming compulsion to see the cottage up close and speak to the old lady I went and looked at the numbers on the cottage doors, when a barking funny little mongrel dog announced my presence.
The little old lady came to the door and apologetically, I said I was a registered psychic and feeling the presence at the accident spot, just needed to hear about the circumstances behind it.
The old lady told me sharply that she did not want busy bodies poking their noses into what happened, and that her son and daughter in law, and several neighbours still did not speak, and avoided her, which compounded her sense of guilt, grief and loss,
And the flowers were from her garden. It was really when the funny little mongrel dog decided I was alright after all, and rolled over on his back to have his tummie rubbed that she said I had better come in.
She made me a cup of earl grey, in a proper china teapot, with a bone china cup and saucer, this was a shock as nowadays we rush to have a teabag in a mug,
What a treat I thought !
then rummaging through some papers, she tearfully showed me a photograph of the dead grand-daughter, she went on about how ill she had been with chicken pox, and how she was a promising little piano player, but was teased awfully at school about the braces on her teeth, when the awful tragedy struck.
People understand an adult’s death, because they have had their life span, but childloss is the most difficult of trials.
The funny little mongrel dog was being a bit of a nuisance, trying to seduce my leg,And I was trying hard to concentrate on the old ladies shaky voice..
We then after a while walked slowly together to the spot, the excited dog was pulling her along on the lead so I took him, he really did seem to take to me,
in fact more than she did, I still picked up her thoughts that I was a nosy busy body, which I probably am, when arriving at the spot, I felt a little cold isolated, and on edge.
Together we said a prayer of healing for the child, and tried to make mental contact, And told her not to stay here, but to walk into the light.
We then experienced a sense of relief, happiness almost and inner warmth, and knew the child had gone on.
Then as we walked back in silence to the cottage, the old lady said she was too old to look after the funny little mongrel dog, and as he had taken to me, could I give it a home, I pulled a negative face, then felt compelled to say “yes of course” “he can come home with me”
My driver waiting in the car looked bored stiff as I approached, then jumped in shock to see my new friend, a funny little mongrel dog, and blurted out, “What have you got there”
I told him, it’s a funny little mongrel dog”
And he seems sexually attracted to peoples ankles”.
Mediums often specialise in different aspects of bereavement, the late Doris Stokes had such an incredible way with spirit children.
Whenever I pass that spot in the car on trips to London, I always look for the shape of the little girl, knowing instinctively she is now at rest,
And anyone coming to my home knows it is protected by a funny little mongrel dog who will sexually assault their leg if they dare to come in.

The Ghost On The Stairs
When i was about 6 years old Ioften visited my grandmas and grandads house which was the first corner house on our street, we lived down the road.
Grandma often complained of seeing something on the stairs landing, a pair of legs walking past but she could only see waist high..anyhow, one night every one was in the living room and i was on the stairs playing with their little Yorkshire terrier..it was barking up the stairs where i was sitting but looking past me.
I tried to call the dog up the stairs but it would come..still it barked away.
I stood up and just as i was about to come back down the stairs I felt a hand on my back and it pushed me firmly down the stairs. i
It was.nt too hard - but certainly enough to get me to the bottom!
I wasn't badly injured, but as i stood up and everyone in the living room came around me i looked up the stairs and there was nothing there. No one was upstairs in the house at the time it was only my grandparents, mam and cousin who were all downstairs.
This was only one event which happened in that house but it was the only one Ihave encountered personally, im sure my grandma could tell many more a tale than me..!
My grandma did ask the next door neighbur eventually about the house and the previous owners, and she did explain a lone man who was a police officer did actually commit suicide in the house..maybe this explains it.
This is a true story and I do myself believe in ghosts from this experience at such a young age.
I know what i felt and i can recall every event very clearly till this day.
Thank you for reading this experience.

Noises In The Attic

Um hi,
This is actually my first time telling anyone other than my friend Caitlyn about my experiences.
I'm a 13 year old girl in my great great grandma's house. I have always suspected that my house was haunted but after my 10th birthday I actually had proof. last weekend on January 5, 2007.
I was home alone because my parents were on a date, I was on the phone with Caity because I kept hearing noises coming from the attic, she was telling me about a story she read about a girl being murdered and no one could find the cause of death,.
Of course I was ignoring her because I was distracted by noises, when suddenly something grabbed my ankle and lifted it into the air causing me to drop on my face.
Caity said she heard a voice in the background of the phone after I had fallen, she said that the voice was saying "Chelsie........don't leave me all alone" in a whispering kind of tone. I was planning on going to her house but I couldn't get up off the ground, so Caity came over to my house as soon as she could and helped me off the ground and asked me about my ankle, so I looked at my foot and saw a brose in the shape of a hand mark. (Chelsie's my name by the way) and that's only one of the times but I cant write anymore because I have to go so hope you enjoyed.

A Freaky Photo

Sorry I haven't got a story to tell and I couldnt find a gallery on this site to put my photo, but I just had to for all you ghost fans out there.
This photo below was taken some time this December 2006 when my family and I stayed the night at an old pub/motel after a 10 hour drive to get to a small country town.
When I went upstairs and looked around the motel part and I felt there was something about that place, like as if something was always watching me.
This photo was taken around 9:30am of me just waking up. I look shocking but I only posted this photo because out of all the paranormal stuff I have found in my photos this one was freaky. The largest orb of them all in the top right corner is no reflection of light off the lense. I know this because reflections are completly round and clear.

After previously searching the net for descriptions of orbs, I have found that orbs are known to be seen with a ring around the outside and pailer rings in the centre.
This orb is also not completly round and it is obvious as you look at it. There are other smaller orbs in the photo and a few with rings around them.
This photo hasn't been edited and I hope you have enjoyed seeing it.

The Valentine's Day Ghost
(This story happened to a workmate of my auntie's in Liverpool's James Street railway station about three years ago.)
It was Valentine's Night, and the young husband had decided to take his wife out for a meal to Liverpool. After having had a pleasant evening, the pair went to Liverpool's James Street Station to get the last train home.
As they sat in the station chatting to each other, the husband noticed that there was a very smartly-dressed young lady, in a 1940's style black suit, sitting on the same bench as them. From the neatness of her attire, the woman looked as if she worked in an office. However, the man became puzzled when he noticed that she was staring fixedly straight ahead, and did not move at all.
Just then, the train came in, and the strange lady got up first and boarded the train ahead of the couple, who decided to enter the same compartment. As they stepped inside, the husband noticed that the compartment was empty, and there was no other way that the woman could have exited the compartment, except to pass by the couple. Frowning, the man asked his wife if she had seen the lady who had sat by them on the bench step into the compartment. Returning his frown, the wife shook her head and asked, "What woman?"
The husband replied: "You know,t he lady who was sitting by us."
Again, looking puzzled, the woman shook her head and denied, again, that she had seen any woman on the bench.
Being a very level-headed person, the husband came to the conclusion that even though he did not believe in ghosts, there had been something very strange indeed about the lady's whole aspect. Maybe, he surmised, with it being Valentine's Day, and with her 1940's style attire, the woman could have been a spirit of a young lover going to meet her fiance, and perhaps someting tragic had happened in that railway station once she had boarded the train.
Who knows?
James Street station is a very old station, with a lot of history. During the war, for example, people used to go down in its tunnels to shelter from the Nazi bombings.
The Window Ghost
This year, I happened to be at my friend's house when we had a ghostly experience.
It happened at about midnight. My friend and I were getting ready to go to sleep when we both saw something outside her window.
Acting on instinct, we looked out and nothing was there.
Well, l since I was so scared, I didn't want to sleep. and I saw the figure again. Now I got so scared that I screamed as loud as I could and her dad heard me.
When she woke up to me frantically sobbing, she saw it too, and we both screamed.
When her dad came in, we both were sobbing hysterically.
I havent seen her since, but we still talk.

The Whaley House
My fiance and I went to the Whaley House in Old Town San Diego. It is rumored to be haunted and is even part of the Old Town San Diego Ghost Tours.
The 1st photo shows 3 strange "apparitions". #1 looks like a corpse hand holding an envelope and there appears to be a face reflecting from the glass case. #2 looks like someone dressed in blue looking in from outside (but there was no one there) and #3 looks like the duster in the case is moving.
The second photo shows a red orb near an old organ in the Theatre Room.
The third photo shows what looks to be another apparition and a red orb. There is a "Book of the Dead" at the Whaley House that shows various tourist photos that have captured spirits on there cameras and there are many that show activity near that lamp in that bedroom. May be a trick of the lighting, may not? Thought you'd like to take a peek and maybe add these to your collection. Thanks,Sheri Gardner
The Three Ghosts
To whom it may concern:
My name is dede, I grew up in Albuquerque, NM. The house I grew up in was haunted. I believe it was haunted by three ghosts. We have had people come to visit and have seen many things or experiences goings on. although I dont live in this home anymore, we know that its been purchased several times more than 8 times since we left.
Our old neighbors say that the owners usually leave in the middle of the night. However we lived in the home 17 years and didnt move because of the goings on. In fact, I have fond memories of this home. I believe we were protected because we are devout catholics. I love investigating, and have no fear of demons. I love Most Haunted and happen to love Derek Acorah. This, by far, is the most awesome show on TV.Dede

The Shuffling Slippers
(This is an actual experience which happened to me, around 1979, whilst I was in my late auntie's flat, all alone, one Sunday afternoon. I still get goosebumps to this day each time I reflect on it!)
It was a sunny Sunday afternoon in early Spring. I was minding my auntie's flat whilst she was out visiting relatives. As the Sunday afternoon movie on TV wasn't quite to my liking, I thought I would pop into the bedroom and relax with a good book.
As I lay there, deeply engrossed in my adventure novel, I suddenly heard the faint sound of shuffling footsteps from somewhere inside the flat.
I listened, frowning as the sound of the footsteps grew more distinct, as if they were shuffling, nearer and nearer, towards the closed bedroom door. The footsteps sounded just like those that my auntie would make . . . or any old woman with a habit of dragging her feet as she walked.
Putting my book down, I listened closely. My immediate thought was that maybe my auntie had come back to the flat, for some reason. However, I could not recall her knocking on the door, or even using her own key to let herself in . . .
"Fran, is that you?" I called out.
No answer.
The footsteps shuffled to a stop. Right outside the room in which I was lying.
I frowned puzzledly.
"Fran, are you back?" I called out again.
Still no answer. A deathly silence.
Expecting the door handle to turn any minute, I jumped up off the bed, my novel falling to the floor with the sudden disturbance, and rushed towards the door. My breath seemed to catch in my throat. My heart was thudding madly. Suddenly, a weird feeling of unease was gripping my stomach.
I pulled the door open, expecting to see a figure standing there to greet me.
But there was nobody there.
The flat was completely empty, except for myself.
Then I remembered that the old lady who used to have the flat before my aunt, a woman called Jessie, had died there a few years ago. Like my aunt, she too used to drag her feet as she walked along.
Were the shuffling footsteps I had heard so clearly actually been hers?
Suddenly, I was in no mood for further contemplation. I hastily put my book away, locked up the flat, and was out of it like a shot.
Right to this day, I can still hear my dad's reaction that Sunday afternoon as I arrived back home:
"Your're back early, Al. What's wrong?"
The Insane Old Lady
I had just turned 12 when we moved into the little house that sat back farther from the road than any of the other houses on the street. I never found out why it was this way, but it always seemed strange to me.My parents owned a restaurant, so we were only at the house from 11p.m. to 5 a.m for the short time we lived there.
One night (for some reason I don't recall), my Mother and I went home earlier ahead of my Father. A short while after going to bed, we began to hear music. Thinking it was me, my Mom asked me to turn the music off and go to sleep. I explained to her it was not me. We got up to hunt for thesource of the music but never discovered where it was coming from.
A few weeks after the music incident, we arrived home around 11 pm and found our very protective dog barking and acting very strange. We always parked the car in front of the house. So there we sat watching our beloved spaniel going crazy in the front yard with his attention on the garage. Thinking it was a cat or some other small animal my Father turned his attention there to see what was bothering "Rags". He then asked my Mom to look and tell him what she saw. Of course, by this time, I was also looking, and this is what we saw: The old wooden doors were open and in the middle of the garage sat what appeared to be an elderly lady sitting in a chair rocking back and forth very slowly. We were stunned to say the least.
My Father started the car, and with the headlights on directed the car toward the garage. And we saw..........nothing!
He turned the car off and again we saw the lady. Rags is still going berserk and we don't know what to do.So again my Dad turns the lights on. There is absolutely nothing in the garage, nothing to reflect light, just nothing. My Mom by this time is refusing to go in the house, so we spent the night at my older sister's
We didn't spend another night at the little house. It was sold soon after. We later learned that a lady who lived there previously had gone insane after her husband left her. We were unable to find out if she died in the house or what happened to her. I pray she found peace.
